It seems like so long ago I was asked to make the wedding stationary for a lovely couple who got married two weeks ago in the Ice Palace in Lapland. They were going with their parents and having the reception when they arrived home. We got together and came up with a snowflake and blue theme. Here are some photos I took.

A friend from work posted a photograph of her Christmas holidays with her family in Scotland. The colours of the mountains and the snow in the distance inspired me to have a play with my distress inks, masks and stamps. Terrific Treescapes clear stamps from Chocolate Baroque. Thanks for visiting Debbie

The one thing I love about crafting is that you meet so many wonderful people. Since I began about 8 years ago I have become a collector of the precious human beings, not sure there's a name for my collection. They are spread far and wide across the country and some of them I will never meet but we chat over the web with a cup or glass of something. I recently met with a newbie friend and we chatted completely forgetting the time and the others around us. She inspired me to have a go at Paper Blocking, something I'd not done before. I set to on my much loved Tim Holtz pad and stamped, inked, arranged, re-arranged, glued and added embellishments. A massive thanks to Sue, I had the greatest fun and intend to make another soon.

Going back into our precious stash that we save for special projects is refreshing as we try different ways of using them. With rubber stamps we can do so much with them, different colours and techniques. The sentiment from Curly birds is so powerful.

The Poppy heart stamp is quickly moving up my list of favourite stamps because of it's versatility. The poppies can be coloured with allsorts of colours and media. Rememberance Poppy and decoupaged one of the poppy flowers so the front stands up. The Remberance Poppy stamp is a single stamp and 50p from each one is donated to the Royal British Legion. For the background I used versamark ink and brushed with pale blue mica powder which gives a lovely sheen. Thank you for visiting Debbie

Happy New Year to any one visiting. I met up with a new friend over the holidays and we had a really good chin wag about all sorts of things. I've been having a sort out of my craftroom which was well over due and through out lots of old bits and pieces that I'll never use again. I had found a canvas that I started a long time ago and decided to resurrect it. The colours were so strong so I lightly covered it with Picket Fence. I wanted to keep it colourful as I'm going to hang it in my room to look at often.

At this time of year when the sun rises late in the morning and sets early afternoon we all think of the summer and warmer days. My card today makes me think of being in a far off land, relaxing and enjoying the views. Eastern Landscapes clear stamps was stamped and embossed with black powder them coloured with Alcohol Pens. The circle of paper for the sun was large enough to mask the Pagoda. Around the sun Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink was used and for the sky Tumbled Glass. I used Stormy Sky Distress Ink as I wanted to give the look of the Pagoda being in a lake. When I attatched the main image to the card I felt it needed a few more trees so stamped them off the in the corner extending the view. I love the sentiments it rings very true to me.
